Physical Benchmarks
Benched 315
Deadlift 325
Squat 295
The bench came up good. Probably estimate 320, 325 as max. Deadlift was poor. Hard to benchmark what max will be but guessing 340 right now. Squat just sucks. I suspect it will be around 305 right now. Really need more volume here.
I am lifting right after running 3.1 miles each day. While I am warm, I am also tired. I wonder if I should be taking a long rest after cardio before lifting?
Spiritual
I am constantly reminded how good God is. Working through Ephesians. Paul's inspired theme here really is: We are rich in Christ. We have a lot of blessings. Why are we acting and living like paupers when we have so much given? God is answering prayer in our church with a lot of cancer remission/absences. But there remains a lot of heartache, sadness and confusion around. Lord help my spirit when I drive!
Mental
Despite working in industry for 15+ years, it is crazy how much there is to learn about the pharma/biotech business. I am working through (66% done) the deeper look at clinical phase 1 trials. Reading through 'A prescription for change' by Michael Kinch (connected on LI, thanks Michael!) -- a treatise on drug development gaps. Though published in 2016, it still carries lessons worth learning and re-applied to the AI swell.

Guitar scales more fluent, ZZ Top song coming along.
Family
Our son Grayson is doing much better, but not completely. I am glad for the progress, though. I suspect it goes how it must go. The path is never straight but it is at least still winding ahead.
Jennifer and I had a chance to see our dear friend Helen. She is such an encourager and Godly woman. Her faith is tremendous and you can't help but be better off for seeing her. She is my mom's oldest friend -- going back 80 years in West Virginia. Helen has seen her more than fair share of heartache and tragedy, but still smiles and leans on Him.

Geeking
Finished the Long Earth book. I liked the non-formulaic approach. It was fresh and different. But I didn't love it, but did like it. I did add a lot of new reading material to the list. There are some books from Harvard Business Review, a re-read of Richard Rhodes Making of the Atomic Bomb, a book on Robert E Lee on Leadership, and a Hampton Sides book 'Blood and Thunder: an Epic of the American West'. Have a lot of reading to do!
Finished episode 3 of our RPG campaign 'The Shattered Circle', did not get to any board games, caught up completely on the Andor series, won trivia in one spot and failed to pull it off in another to come up short on the $50, and planned some of the Gen Con schedule. Registration is this Sunday, so Justin, Jacob and I will need to have all our schedules in place in hopes the slots are filled. There are like 20,000 events and probably 30,000 people descending on Indianapolis in early August. Complete madhouse!
