The surprise concert was ... a surprise

Today, March 16th, is our wedding anniversary and normally we are not real sentimental about it. High-fives, a trip to the Santa Fe or Mythos restaurant, and that is about it. But this year ... I upped my game big time.
Jennifer's favorite local band is a rock cover band called 'Dear Sister'. https://www.facebook.com/DearSisterMusic234/
They are really tight band and we have become friends with them, as Jennifer never misses a gig, if she can help it. So, for this year's anniversary, they agreed to put on a special acoustic session for our anniversary at Joymonger's in Greensboro (https://www.joymongers.com/). We all managed to keep it a surprise from Jennifer without any social media posts about the gig. Throw in two taco bars from Poblano's, some invited friends and ... voila! A great time was had with a surprised Jennifer.
A tornado warning morning slipped into a beautiful 72 degree sunny, albeit breezy, day. Despite Tim, Kris, and Jacob of Dear Sister having been so under the weather that they cancelled a gig last night (Saturday), they showed up to play this one, as it was important to them. Really solid people! And they sounded great.
I am very thankful for the wonderful people in our lives. We are blessed to have friends and acquaintances like we do. This concert, plus Vegas last week, has me in the 'did ok' column, for at least this year. We may be back to high-fives and quesadillas next year, but after 23 yrs, it is all good! So, I will take the win this week in the husband goal category when I report out at the end of the week (unless I do something very bone-headed between now and then, which I don't want to see the odds on ...).
