Our Tuesday Team Trivia night landed in the money ($25) but it was a scrappy night to battling for 1st. We had a horrible 1st half but battled to remain close-ish ...
1st Half

Note - we knew a wrestler did Slim Jim commercials and said 'step into a slim jim' but the part of the question referencing a level of excitement threw us. In short, sounded like 2 different jingles).
Cover Songs - What BJ Thomas song was later covered by Blue Swede who added 'Ooga chaka ooga ooga' to the beginning of the song? A: More than a feeling. (Incorrect. Correct - Hooked on a feeling). Note: synapses were not firing at this point!!

And so our small but valiant band of Myself, Hilaire, Jennifer, Luke (1+ yr old) and Mil (3 yr old going on 23), were squarely in 2nd with a horrendous 18 points. The leaders had 32 points! Ugh.

So, we are sitting at 50 points going into the final with the leaders in 58. We made up 6 points on them and definitely catchable since you can bet up to 15 points for the final. Once again, the culture was our achilles heel up to this point. My tally is we lost 80s movies, advertising, cover songs, movie link Qs. Pop culture definitely. Shamefully, we missed an American History and Colleges Q.
Final Round:
Directors.
Of the 6 listed directors below, name the 2 that have not won an oscar for Best Director?
James Cameron
Alfred Hitchcock
John Huston
George Lucas
Roman Polanski
Martin Scorcese
A: Hitchcock & Lucas. (Correct). We bet 15 points. The lead team bet 8 points and just did cover ours, winning the game with 66 vs our 65 point total. If anyone lives in the Greensboro NC area and knows TV, movies and more recent music -- come on out to World of Beer on Tuesdays and join up!
Until next Tuesday!
